Ombudsperson’s Office for Transitional Justice Concludes Investigation of 111 Cases
The Ombudsperson’s Office for Transitional Justice has concluded the investigation of several cases. Thus far, 111 cases have been investigated since 13 September 2021, the deadline for filing cases.
This includes 64 cases related to economic and social rights, 23 cases related to right to no unlawful arrest or detention, 21 cases related to right to work, one case related to the right to privacy, one case related to the right to fair administrative action and one case related to the right to no degrading treatment or torture.
OTJ opened for submission of cases from 13th June 2021 to 12th September 2021, during which the office received 489 complaints. Among these, 455 complaints which fall under the mandate of OTJ was accepted by the office for investigation.
The OTJ is making every effort to conduct the investigation of the outstanding cases in accordance with the law and regulations. The Office is also conducting reconciliation in collaboration with the state agencies as per Article 27 of Chapter II of Law No. 2020/28 (Transitional Justice Act).
