Ombudsperson’s Office for Transitional Justice Meets with the Minister of Gender, Family and Social Services

The Ombudsperson’s Office for Transitional Justice held a virtual introductory meeting today via Google Meet with the Minister of Gender, Family and Social Services, Aishath Mohamed Didi.

During this meeting, ombudspersons discussed with the Minister about facilitating the submission of forms for people with special needs, providing special protection to female witnesses and victim support to persons involved in cases submitted to the office.

The participants of the meeting also discussed on collaborative efforts for mutual benefits and about establishing an MoU between Ombudsperson’s Office for Transitional Justice and the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services.

During this meeting, participants discussed on collaborating in areas of research and training for mutual benefits.

The Ombudsperson’s Office for Transitional Justice opened for submission of cases from 13th June 2021 and has since been holding meetings with relevant institutions to ensure convenient access of complaint and compensation forms for as many people as possible.
