Abdul Salaam Arif is a lawyer who previously worked as the Vice President of the Tax Appeal Tribunal from 2010 until 2015. He holds a Degree in Law and Masters in Comparatives Laws from the International Islamic University of Malaysia. He has represented clients at courts since 2009.

Usthaza Jihadha Anees attained LLB at Maldives College of Higher Education (now Maldives National University) and completed LLM at the International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI), Malta has worked in various positions in the legal field including working as an Attorney at law at Attorney General’s Office, Assistant Prosecutor General and Public Prosecutor at Prosecutor General’s Office of the Maldives. In addition, she served as the Vice President at the Customs Integrity Commission. 

Mariyam Laiza

Ombudsperson

Mariyam has worked both in the Education and Human rights and humanitarian sector. She holds a Master’s in Education at Open University of Malaysia and Masters in Human Rights and Democratization at Mahidol University, Thailand. Prior to joining this position she has been working as lectures at Maldives National University.
