The Ombudsperson’s Office for Transitional Justice has concluded the investigation of 141 cases.
The cases investigated so far include 82 cases related to economic and social rights, 37 cases related to right to work, 07 cases related to right to acquire and hold property, 06 cases related to right of pension, 04 cases related to the right to fair and transparent hearings, 02 cases related to no unlawful arrest or detention and one case each related to compensation, freedom of assembly and privacy.
OTJ opened for submission of cases from 13th June 2021 to 13th September 2021, during which the office received 489 complaints. Among these, 455 complaints which fall under the mandate of OTJ was accepted by the office for investigation.
The OTJ is making every effort to conduct the investigation of the outstanding cases in accordance with the law and regulations. The Office is also conducting reconciliation in collaboration with the state agencies as per Article 27 of Chapter II of Law No. 2020/28 (Transitional Justice Act).
